Being a stressed out overachiever, I had an intimate love/hate relationship with my own internal critical voice. She made me doubt myself and kept me hanging onto many self-limiting beliefs. I often listened to my internal critic; she kept me motivated and focused on my goals, but at the same time, I also hated her. She caused me to feel intense anxiety, stress, and pressure.
The discovery came when I finally realized the internal critic was the root cause of my stress and I needed to shut her up! It may sound harsh, but she was holding me back from achieving my potential. I began to practice shifting my negative mindset so my internal critic could become my internal motivational speaker. That was the moment I began to experience less stress and more success in both her life and business.
