Did you know the level and type of stress you feel can actually diminish your success? Stress and success seem to go hand in hand. You might be asking; how can anyone have success without stress? The truth is, is it possible, but you have to do some work.
You need stress; life without stress would be quite boring and pretty lame. Stress is what motivates you to get out of bed and get things done. It’s when you experience chronic stress day after day that you begin to feel tense, overwhelmed, exhausted, and burned out. This type of stress will diminish your success and prevent you from achieving your true potential.
Here’s the dilemma, you are bombard with information and pressure and all you can ever say is “I m too busy”, “I don’t have enough time”, I can’t do anymore”. However, you feel compelled to add more to your life for fear of failure or that you will fall behind. You may believe that if you don’t say yes, you won’t get promoted; your kids won’t like you, or your friends will judge you. Well, I am here to tell you that what you are sacrificing today for what you think is going to benefit you tomorrow is a BIG FAT LIE!
Did you know that more than 80% of hospital visits are linked to stress and one million people a day call in sick to work because of stress or symptoms related to stress? The stress you are feeling is not helping you or adding value to your life, it is making you sick, depressed, chubby, and cranky.
Chronic stress diminishes your health and can lead to disease. It causes you to make bad decisions, feel exhausted, and become overwhelmed. You stop taking care of yourself, your relationships suffer, you are short tempered, and you feel unhappy because your life is out of control.
To start feeling less stress and experiencing more success in your life and work, you need first pause and breathe. Then, be fearless, take a good hard look at your life and explore what is TRULY stressing you out. Is it because you are out of shape and can’t fit into your skinny jeans? Is your internal voice telling you, you are not good enough or working hard enough? Are you stressed because you are in an unsupportive relationship that diminishes who you are? Or are you REALLY stressed because you have lost your connection to what really matters to you in life?
I believe getting to the root cause of your stress is the only way to gain a sense to control. As I mentioned earlier, you need stress, it motivates you, but too much stress results in negative outcomes. Get to the root cause of your stress so you can begin experiencing a life filled with success and happiness!
